You are invited to the theatrical run of Always in Season, winner of the Sundance Jury Prize for Moral Urgency, opening this Friday 10/4 and playing through 10/10 at the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta. STAR’s co-hosted screening day is 10/9.
Always in Season explores the lingering impact of more than a century of lynching African Americans as it connects with racial violence from the past to the present with the case of a Lennon Lacy, a 17-year-old African American who was found hanging from a swing set in rural North Carolina in 2014. Lennon’s mother, Claudia, believes he was lynched, and is determined to find answers. Narration is done by Danny Glover, with an appearance by Bryan Stevenson and participation by Sherrylin Ifill of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
