Phase I. Exploration and Initiation|6-12 Months

  • Initial contact with the community

Phase III. Stabilization | 1 to 6 Months

  • Help to develop a new organization if needed
  • Help the community accomplish objectives toward achieving its goals
  • Establish future plans and strategies
  • Establish truth commissions where needed and appropriate
  • Continue community organizing
  • Continue the ABCD process

Phase II. Mobilization | 1 to 6 Months

  • First training meetings, seminars, and events
  • Begin consistent update briefings to report the progress of the process
  • Begin truth telling/trust building sessions
  • Introduce external resources
  • Begin community organizing
  • Initiate the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) process

Phase IV. Action – Full Community Engagement | Indefinite       

  • Move fully into community organizing
  • Facilitate organizations full engagement of the community on identified issues
  • Conduct planned major events
  • Initiate planned major projects
